Ambiguity Board Game
I found this board game called "Ambiguity". It is played with regular 6-sided dice that have different letters on the different sides. When the dice are rolled, you are supposed to look at the dice from many different angles to see which different letters you can see and make as many words as you can from those letters. The player with the most words created wins the game.
I like the idea of this game because we talked about the ambiguity of sentence structure, but never really talked about the ambiguity of the letters in the English language. When looked at from different angles, many of the letters could be perceived as other letters.

This seems pretty interesting. It all comes down to perception in this game. Reminds me of my old high school art teacher. Different angles and views of something can give you completely different outcomes on things. Art plays on this fact a lot. I think it would be fun to play this game, however, I would probably be horrible, I am not good at coming up with words based on strictly a few letters. Give me some words though. And I'll make something interesting out of them.
ReplyDeleteThis game seems like it would be a lot of fun! I agree that by looking at anything from a different angle, you can perceive different things. I am not too sure if I would be great at this game, but once I get into my competitive mind-set, I'm sure I'll be thinking of words left and right!
ReplyDeleteI really want to know were everybody finds these games. I mean they seem so interesting but they are not really well known. I'm sure it will be fun trying to figure out all the words that you can make with it!
ReplyDeleteThis game looks like fun. This may be hard to find, because I've never seen it before.
